iOPENING OF THE ,SEASON
To-morrow the opening of the rowing season, will take place, and, given a fine afternoon, everything points to a successful' function. Tlie crews to represent the Poverty Bay shed in the regatta have been finally chosen as follows:—Crews to race: Seniors, W McGuffie, B. Lowe, M. McLeod, and C. Winter; double sculls, J. Stuart and C. Clark; married men, J. Stuart and A. McConnell; single men, T. McConnell and H. Huston; past rowers, R. Kellett, F. Lowndes, A. Sawyer, and H. Warren ; single sculls, W. McGuffie and C. Somervell. Regatta crews—Four oars: W. McGuffie, 15. Lowe, M. McLeod and C. Winter; A. Kirk, IT. Houlden, R. Huston,.and E. Roche; S. Ledger, T. McConnell, M. Sceats, and A. McConnell; double sculls: C. Clark and J. Stuart. R. Wilkinson and F. Clark; single sculls: C. Somervell. The procession will be headed by the Harbor Board’s launch in charge of Captain Martin, and conveying the City
AUCKLAND CHAAIPIONSHIP REGATTA.

AUCKLAND, Oct. 20. The Auckland Rowing Association has decided to hold the championship regatta on tlie AVaitema-ta harbor. The date is not fixed, but it will probably be in tlie middle of February.
