FIRE ON THE MONOWAI.
SUGAR CARGO CHARRED

AYELLINGTON, July 9. Qu tho Monowai’s trip down th© East Coast it was found that some hags of sugar in one of the holds had been on fire. Several bags in the centre of tho heap woro charred, but th firo had not been of great extent, and had evidently burnt itself out. It is supposed that the sugar was in a heated condition.
