CIVIL SERVICE RETIREMENT.
VALEDICTORY TO MR. IV. - THOMPSON. " Press Association. WELLINGTON, March. 31. Mr. W. Thompson, for 24 years on the head staff of the Public Works Department, finishing with the position of Chief Land Purchase Officer, is retiring upon superannuation today. His fellow-officers' presented him with gifts and appreciative references to the new superannuation scheme were made by Mr. H. J..H. Glow, Under-Secretary for Public Works, and others.
