Press Association. ■GOVERNMENT URGED TO PURCHASE. Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 1 26. Representations are being made to the Government by Mr. Jennings, M.P., in favor of the State purchasing the “Mokau Jones” estate, which lias been so frequently in public prominence for many years past. Tho estato contains about 74,000 acres, and is said to ho rich in coal and timber. Tho greater part of it is good stock carrying country, and its present idle condition renders it a bar to tho progress of North Taranaki and South Auckland.
