UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING. Press Association. NAPIER. March 4. The annual meeting of the United Press Association was held at the Masonic Hotel to-day, the chairman of directors, Mr. G. Fenwick, presiding. Nearly all the shareholders were present, and it was announced that the association had secured the copyright for New Zealand of the narrative of the Antarctic expedition from Lieut. Shackleton, which was expected to come to hand next month. The chairman spoke in feeling terms of the loss to the association by the recent death of the late Mr. j". G. Wilkin, of the Lyttelton Times, who had been a member of the board of directors since 1894. A resolution of sympathy and condolence was passed by the members standing. Mr. H. Horton, of the N.Z. Herald, was elected on the board in place of Mr. Wilkin, and Wanganui was selected ns the next- place of meeting. The board met after the annual meeting, and elected Mr. E. W. Knowles, of Napier, as chairman for the ensuing year.
