FURTHER EVIDENCE OF INMATES. Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, March 4. The inquiry into the management of the To Oranga Home was continued to-day, when evidence was given in corroboration of that previously given. Several girls stated that They had been strapped by the matron and confined in cells and detention yard for a month after attempting to abscond. One witness stated that when sho was returned to the Home after absconding she was strapped and put in the cells. She complained to an attendant that she had a sore throat, and she was afterwards strapped again for refusing to eat her food. Some days later a doctor saw her, and ordered her removal to the hospital, where she was in bed for a month.
