FIRE IN STANLEY ROAD.
STABLE BURNT TO THE GROUND
Abiut a quarter past three o’clock this morning the Bright street firebell was rung as ,& result of a lurid glare observable in the direction of the Abattoirs. On arrival at the scene of tlio conflagration it was found to be located in a stable near the bottom of Stanley-road, belonging to Air. Gordon. The Fire Brigade did not turn out, but their efforts in any caso would liavo been unavailing, as when the first party from town arrived the stablo was little more than a flaming skeleton. Air. Gordon lost tlio wholo of his harness, but happily his horses were not in the stable at. the time of the lire.
