AUCKLAND, Dec. 30. A telegraphic message was received in Auckland from the North to-day* by Captain McKenzie, promoter of the expedition, intimating that the party which left Auckland on the Claymore a fortnight ago for the Three Kings Islands to search for the remainder of the specie from tlie wreck of the Elingamite, lias recovered a “good quantity” of the treasure. The weather lias evidently been favorable for tlie carrying out of diving operations, and the efforts 'of the party in this direction appear to have been very successful. • The amount recovered on tlie present expedition lias as yet not been ascertained. The Claymore party considers that tlie rest of tlie treasure is noyv in sight. Tlie Elingamite, which was wrecked on the Three Kings oil November 9th, 1902, had on board £‘17.300 worth of specie, of which about £2OOO lias been recovered ill the several attempts which have been made prior to the present one
