CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 30. 11l answer to a question Sir Joseph Ward said he had been unable to irran-e as lie first anticipated for die Koonya to take a limited number of passengers down to the ice when towing tlie British Antarctic vessel Nimrod. Sir James Mills had telegraphed to him stating that the Koonya had no passenger acconitnodat ion available, besides which there were other reasons, such as the necessity for taking extra stewards, etc., why the proposal could not be given effect to.
