The Gisborne Club's -green- presented an animated appearance yesterday afternoon, when a large- number of games were played. The handicap fours competition was concluded. In the semi-final T. Robertson, Wilson, Pa.vitt, and Coleman beait Mackrell, Malcolm, F. Pettio, and Eure toy 29 to 14. 11l the final Fordyce, Murray, Brady, and Witty heat Coleman’s rink by IS to 17. A rink consisting of Harris, iHennessy, and Ifwcrson (skipper) met \V. Pettio, Corson, R. Robertson, and T. A. Crawford, one of the representative rinks for -Auckland, and suffered defeat by 24 to IG. The following ordinary games were played:—Cussen, -Bullock, E. Lewis, Ambridge (25) heat Kretehmar, H. Lewis, W. Morgan, Witty (18); E. Burton, Redstone, Clarkson, Houlihan (34) beat Longland, R. Crawford, G. Miller, Craig (S); Elliott, -Lucas, Williams, J. Martin- (17), boat O’Meara. Bright, J. E. Pettio, Brady <l4). The first round of the handicap pairs competition was continued at the Turanganui Club's green yesterday, when Morse and Ratcliffe met Joyce and Sawyer. The players resolved to decide -their game on ten heads, and tlie score at the finish was 16 to 7 in favor of the former pair, -Joyce and Sawyer receiving a handicap of 6 points. Morse and -Ratcltffe won by 3 -points. On the second.bead the winners scored- the possible of 8 ooints. A game was played between the two representative teams for Auckland, and resulted' in a victory for Martin’s rink by 2G to Gaudin’s 17.
