REBELS BEHEADED OR TORTURED. JAPANESE FIGHT WITH INSURGENTS IN KOREA. United Press Association —Copyright PORT DARWIN. Dec. 12. ' Terrible atrocities are reported as toeing perpetrated by Chinese Imperial soldiery acting against the Tebels in Finchau and Fongsheng disOf 70 rebels captured all were either beheaded or had their ears cut off. Another party of 300 were slaughtered or burnt alive in a cave, whither they had retreated. Later details state that the troops have been badly beaten by the rebels and that tho insurrection in Kwansgi province, which began with riots in Linchau in the summer, is by no means ended. Interesting details come to hand with reference to fighting m Korea. A Seoul despatch states that at,dawn on November 12 a Japanese force attacked 500 insurgents at Heison. The latter fled and left a number of dead and many weapons. On November 14 the insurgents cut the. telegraph wires between Bunsen and Kaifo, on the SeoulWiju railway. . This interrupted communication west of Seoul. Workmen sent to repair the line were attacked byi rebels, and troops had to be despatched to.protect them.
