As a result the Zulus ar© reported to oe mobilising in small numbers, and two of the most powerful Natal tribes, totalling 9000 fighters, are restless and prepared to co-operate with the Zulus should the latter rebel. - LONDON, Dec. 4. Reuter states that the Zulus’ fighting strength is estimated at .'IO,OOO, anil that they possess many tides and a considerable quantity of ammunition. It is further stated that Dinizulu’s intentions are unknown. It is understood at Colenso, while urging him to surrender and stand his trial, the authorities are preparing for all emergencies, and 1500 troops are ready for service in Zuluhind. The militia is being recruited }>P' to its full strength, 3500, and there is impending the mobilisation of all reserves, which w r ill give a total defence force of 10,000. Dr. Jameson is ready to place a force on the Griqualand border. The Transvaal and • Imperial Governments are ready to assist in the cause if necessary.
