PROTEST FROM INVERCARGILL Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Nov. 12. The Chamber of Commerce committee tond-av received President Watson’s report regarding the deputation to the Premier on the subject of terminal charges at shipping ports. The Chamber thanked Mr. Watson, and decided that while the Chamber still thinks that no profits should be niiade on the actual cost of overtime (9d) at seaports, they hop-ed-that as he bad promised the deputlaition to look into the matter, the Premier would see his way to reduce the rates to Is per hour. The committee also considered the Food Monopoly Prevention Bill, and decided to telegatiph the following 'to tlio Premier: —“This Chamber trusts that the Bill will not he passed, as members consider it undesirable and imp r a cticable.”
