NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 12 A meeting of the New Plymouth Employers’ Association to-naglit considered the new sub-clause inserted bv the Minister for Labor in . the Factories Act Amendment, providing that where the number of hands employed in factories and shops combined is more than tlio number employed in the shop the lialf-holiday under the Factories Act must be observed. It was pointed out that the inclusion of this clause would prevent the great majority ot employers taking advantage of the optional clause in the Act aiud of a compulsory Saturday half-iioliday for all hands employed m factories. It was decided to task tlio Employers Federation to endeavor to get tuns clause deleted, and to the cooperation of members for the distriot.
