WELLINGTON, Nov. 11. The Presbyterian Assembly to-day resolved: “That 'while thankful for tho Anti-Gambling Bill introduced by the Government, and trusting it may become Jaw, this session Assembly" trusts it will be amended so as to prevent the publication of totalisator odds in accordance with the Preown. definitely expressed intentions, also the elimination of the clause giving racing clubs power to license bookmakers. The Assembly further expresses its ineradicable conviction that in . the interests of the moral and social well-being of the community the totalisator (Should be absolutely abolished.” A copy of the resolution is to be sent to the Premier.
