CHRISTIANITY AND THEOSOPHY.
FURTHER LECTURE BY AIR JOHNSTON.
In his lecture at the Baptist Tabernacle on Tuesday night Air W. Como Johnston dealt further with the question of Theosophy as opposed to Christianity. He admitted that the claim of Theosophy regarding the wisdom of the ancients probably had reference to the Fallen Angels, mentioned in Gen. VI and to the Epistle of Jude. The teachings of the Theosonhical Society were that man had a four-fold nature and that 800 lives might be gone through before the final purification. Theosophy merely made Christ one of twelve Alessiahs, one of whom was still to appear. Before Heaven and Eartli were again in harmony there would be a great falling away; and Theosophy was preparing the way for the False Messiah, who would show signs and wonders, and d’sp!ia v knowledge and power which would make all men wonder.
