Two mining magnates who desired to co-operate with tlie Government had come to the conclusion that the importation of Chinese was a mistake. Regarding Indians the Government would strictly enforce the Asiatic law. It was determined to make the Transvaal a white man’s country. They had put their foot down, and would keep it thero.
