A cablegram from London announces the death "of Sir William Braodbent, physician to the King. A Press Association telegram from Wellington states that Mr. C. F. Maxwell, Resident Commissioner at Nuio Island since 1902, is returning to New Zealand. He will be succeeded by Mr. H. G. Cornwall of tj;e accountants branch of the General Post Office. Mr. Cornwall has on previous occasions been Acting Commissioner at Nuio. A Press Association telegram from Christchurch states that the Hon. W. Hall-Jones. Minister of Public Works and Minister of Railways, embarked on the steamer Kainara at Lyttelton yesterday afternoon, and the vessel was expected to sail for England at n o’clock tin’s morning.
