LONDON, Juno 10
The Times’ New York correspondent quotes a leader of organised labor affirming that if Moyer, Haywood and Pcltibonc, officials of the Miners’ Federation are convicted it will be through an unfair trial, addr ing that tlio whole affair is a put up job, and a murderous attack by unscrupulous capitalists against the workers.
A cablegram declares that the situation is one great gravity and full of menace. None can foresee the result if the prisoners are sentenced to death.
ORCHARD UNSHAKEN
NEW YORK, June 10.
Orchard’s evidence was unshaken under two days’ cross-examination. He confessed to other crimes, including arson and shooting Detective Gregory at instigation from the Federation leaders.
