Bloore, taking the affirmative, made good use of his logical arguments, which were apreciated by his audience and gave life to the debate from the commencement. .Mr. Seymour McFarlane, in taking the negative, gave good reasons for opposing Mr. Bloore, and handled his subject well. Other members spoke on the subject with great interest. The President took a vote of the members, which was in favor of tlio affirmative by a majority of throe.

For riext Holiday night tho Society has chosen an extremely popular subject for debate, which they hope will attract a large number of members. Tho subject will ho, “Should Bachelore he Taxed?” Mr. J. G. Cox takes the affirmative and Mr. McLean the negative.
