MARITIME MISHAPS.
Press Association. TWO VESSELS ASHORE.
HOKITIKA, yesterday
When being toweil to sea this morning the schooner Eunice took the ground on the south spit, just at the harbour mouth. The steamer Jane Douglas in endeavoring to tow the vessel off was driven on to the south beach. The schooner is in a good position for refloating on the next tide without the necessity of discharging her cargo of timber. The Jane Douglas is fully laden with cargo for her south Westland trip, and will be high and dry at low water, when the cargo will probobly bo discharged. There are hopes of refloating her also on the next tide.. The sea is smooth, and neither boat so far has suffered any damage. , COLLISION NEAR AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, last night.
