HASTINGS, yesterday.
An enthusiastic meeting was addressed last night by Major Smith, organiser of tlie National League of New Zealand. Tho following resolution was moved by Sir Will. Russell, and passed : “That this meeting is in full accord with the National Leagno in its endeavor to obtain military and naval training for tho youth of the colony, in order that when the occasion arises they may bo prepared to defend thoir homos, freedom, and national honor, and - that a branch of the League be at Hastings.” Sir Wm. Russell was elected president of the branch.
