A SCHOOL RAIDED

WELLINGTON, yesterday

At a late hour last night tho police raided a “two-up” school in premises up a narrow alley-way between Carroll’s tea-rooms and the Singer Company’s premises, Willis street. Sixty-eight persons were arrested, and by 2 a.m. all were bailed outi. Sydney Macnamara will be charged ‘with keeping a gaming house and others with frequenting the placo. The men found in the gymjnasium raided by the police last night appeared before the Magistrate’s Court to-day, and were remanded at counsel’s request, bail being allowed in £5 each, while the jkieeper of the placo was bailed out for £25.
