Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, April 17. At the tallow sales 1268 casks were offered and 226 sold. Alutton, fine, is at 37s 3d, medium 35s 6d; beef, fine, 365, medium 345. SYDNEY, April 18. At tho wool sales greasy touched 12id, and scoured 25d. NAPIER, yesterday. Tho Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company cabled to-day:— Alutton—Canterbury 4d, Napier, Wellington and North Island, 3Jd; lamb, first quality sgd, second 4jd; beef, hindquarters 3fd, fores 2Jd.

AIATAAVHERO SALES. There was a good attendance at tho sale of stock at' Alatawliero yesterday, and there was brisk competition.

Alessrs Common, Shelton and Co. and Dalgcty and Co. sold: 114 twotooth wethers 13s lid, 21 soundmouthed ewes Gs 7d, and 92 blackfaced lambs in forward condition 9s 3d There was a small yarding of cattle, and everything was sold at satisfactory prices: 3 yearling steers £1 each, 5 cows in calf £1 17s, 7 cows £2 16s, 7 steers £3 15s, 21 cows with 17 calves £2 10s, 4 steers £2 19s 6d, 1 fat cow £3 12s 6d, 40 18-inonths-old heifers £2. Alessrs AA'illiams and Kettle and the Loan and Alorcantile Co., Ltd., had an entry of about 4000 sheep. Alost of the yarding was lambs, for which there was brisk demand. Tho sale was good throughout, and for all classes there was keen competition. A few lots passed in found purchasers as the sale proceeded. Lambs sold at 6s 7d for medium to 10s 3d for good sorts, serviceable ewes brought from 12s 3d to 13s 9d for two-tooths. Only a few fats were offered, ewes bringing 11s 3d and wethers 16s 3d. Cattle:Over 600 head of cattle were yarded, mostly store steers and heifers. Bidding was slow at the start, but competition afterwards was brisk.
