A meeting was held at the Masonic Hotel last evening to discuss the tormaton of a football club under tho Australian rules. Present: Messrs. B. AV. Cary (in the chair). J. HAVack (sec..), A. Mr. A. M. Orpwood proposed that a football league under Australian rules to be called the Poverty Bay Football League be formed. Mr. MeCufUo seconded and it was carried unanimously.

The elect ion of odicers was proceeded with and resulted in the choice of the following gentlemen. Patron: Tho Mayor (Mr. Townley), YioePatrons: Messrs. V . Miller and .1. V Connell; President, Mr. R. AY. Cary; Vice-Presidents, Messrs. AA . Bissau I Clayton, G. G. Shirlnw, F. Muir, D. Dustin, D. J. Barry, and Dr. Collins; Treasurer, Air. A. At. Orpwood ; Hon. Secretary, Air. J. H. Waok; General Committee. Messrs. W. McGndic. AV. Schofield, R. Hyams, AL Kelly, G. Cox, AA. B. Marlow, A. H. O’Connor.

Ah'. It. AA’. Cary was appointed delegate to represent the Poverty Bay Football League at the Conference of delegates to be held at Auckland on Easter Saturday.

The subscription list was fixed at 5s per annum. Tlie President said that lie hoped to return from Auckland with a couple of footballs and rule books. Committee meetings are to be held every Monday. The question .if getting a playing ground was left over. A vote of thanks to the clmir concluded the meeting.
