Butter: 'Wet, warm weather and tho prospect of large Australian supplies are depressing the market. Danish 121 s, choicest Victorian and New South Wales 110 s to 112 s, occasionally 114 s, secondaries 102 sto 106 s, Recent arrivals are ex*, cellent. Bradford wool: Quiet but very firmForties 17d, forty-sixes 18d, common sixties 265, super 27d. The Antwerp wool sales opened with a fair attendance and moderate animation. Fine merinos and crossbreds regained 5 centimes, while medium coarse crossbreds are unchanged from the September rates. Out of 2936 bales of La Plata offered 748 were sold.

At the wool sales to-day 9942 bales were catalogued, mostly the Australian new clip- There was a crowded attendance in all parts. Compared with the September closing rates best merinos were fully 10 per cent, higher ; medium faulty, 5 per cent.; crossbreds, rubbishy selection, 10 ■--*£ per cent, higher- Americans took all the f best merinos.

ONE OF THE BEST HELD THERE
PRESS ASSOCIATION Auckland, last night. The first wool sales of the season took plaoe to-day. A total of 4010 bales were offered, 861 more than last year. Wool generally was of good quality, and the sale was one of the best ever held in Auckland, closing with advanced prioes and fi;m. The. top price was Is 2d for halfbrea Merinos, but a number of iota went well. over a shilling. Crossbred averaged 10Jd to 11 iI; fine hslfbred and fine crossbred, Is to Is Id ; Romney, lid to ll£d ; Shropshire sold well at lid to ll£d, and went up to Is OJJ ; Lincoln and Leioeeter, lOd. Orutohings and pieces averaged 7d, aud hollies and pieces 7d to 9Jff. The bulk of the wool was orossbred, and almost every line brought a satisfactory figure, advancing Id to 21 on last year’s prices.
