Me'.boume, Nov. 28. A deputation representing tho Presbyterian Mission in the Now Hebrides interviewed Mr Deakin. Tho principal suggestion made was that representations should be made to the Imperial Govern-* merit in favor of the Govornor-General being appointed British High Commissioner. lie could then appoint deputies whenever necessary. The introduction of ticket-of-lcavc convicts, and recruiting native labor for service outside the group, should be prohibited. The deputation asked that tho Federal Fiscal door be opened a little to allow the admission of rnaivo from the group on terms which the convention regarded fair, though the balance of advantages was on the side of France. The reply of the Premier was not available to-night owing to telegraphic interruption.
