GISBORNE RIFLES.

A parade of Gisborne Rifles was held last night, Captain Beere in command. A largo number turned out, and instruction was given in oompany drill by the officers and non.commissioned officers, At the oonolusion of the above parade, a meeting was called for the purpose of eleoting Mr Arthur 8. Coleman lieutenant of the corps, the election being unanimous. The Rev. Mr Wright was also unani* moualy elected ohaplain. Some details in connection with the forthcoming oamp from Ist to Bih Decern* ber were discussed, and various matters arranged. A grand concert is on the programme for Thursday, 6sh December, and every effort is being made to make it as attractive as possible, one of the principal items beiDg a night atiaek on a body of troops A number of tbe men taking part in this item have had actual experience in South Afrioa, and this should make this very realistio.

It is intended that the camp will be thrown op»n to ton public oa Sunday afternoon, 2nd December.
