For Solution there is no settled quotation, and it is not yet decided whether she will Btart. The prioe nominally is 10 to 1. She remains ia Lowe’s oare. For the Melbourne Cup Solution has been backed at 7 to 2, and is now firm at 4 to 1.

A private message from R. Paterson, owner of the mare Solution, to his representative here, states that the purchasing prioe was 4700 guineas. Christchurch, last night. Chicane was ecratohed at 9 a.m. to-day for the New Zealand Cup.
