MISS TITTELL BRUNE.

Theatregoers accept the announcement of an approaching season by any of Mr J. C. Williamson’s companies as an indication that something exceptionally good may be expeoted. The celebrated young tragedienne, Miss Tittell Bruno, supported by Mr Williamson’s specially selecsed company, which includes the sterling English actor, Mr Thomas Eingston, will appear at His Majesty’s Theatre for the first time in Gisborne next Wednesday, Ootober 3;d, for a season of four nights. Miss Brune established a reoord during her recent phenomenal season of five months in Melbourne, and during her Wellington season her success was so pronounced that hundreds nightly were unable to gain admission. The opening attraction of the Gisborne season, " Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall,” furnishes in the name part opportunities for Miss Brune to B.hine with much brilliancy. 11 Dorothy Vernon ” is desoribed as a 11 sterling romantic play of the days of good Qaeen Bess,” and it has undoubtedly proved one of the greatest of many sensational successes in Miss Tittell Brune’s long repertoire of plays. One distinguished oritio has even gone so far as to say that sinoe Victor Hugo evolved the romantic drama the stage has seen no more stirring tale of chivalry than “ Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall.” The season, which is to last for four nights, will conclude with 0. M. 0. MoLelian’d rematkable drama, *' Lsab Klesohno,” for tbe first tims in Gisborne. This play has probably attracted more attention than any drama of modern times ; also Zjtngwill's enormously successful oomedy, " Merely Mary Ann,” and the world-wide favorite “ (Sunday.” All these plays will be presented for the first time in Glßborne, and our oity has seldom been catered for in so sumptuous a manner, even by Australasia’s premier management.

Box-plans for tbe season opens at His Majesty’s Theatre at 10 u’clook to-murrow morning.
