PHESS ASSOCIATION Wellington, yosterday. The Municipal Oonforeroo was continued tc-day. It was rosolved that tho Laud Transfer Act should bo amended to provide that when land is beiDg brought 1 under tho Act or sub-divided, tho Council interested should he notified. The question of framing a definition of o:m----man lodging houses was referred to a committeo. It was agreed that the district e'ectois’ rolls of boroughs should bo the electoral rolls used at all deotions and. • polls by tho looal authorities within boroughs. It was decided to reoommend that Borough Couocils or the Agricultural Department bo given authority to proclaim milk districts s’tnilur to thoso ob-he taining for abattoirs, and to oontrol Iho sale of milk in tho proposed district 3. The honorary effiesrs were ro-eleoicd, and the oonfereuoe olosed.
The oonferenoo adopted a number.of re c commendations made by Dr. Mason, Chief Health Officer, regarding butchers’ and barbers’ shops. In respeot of former it was deoided that an i flort should J bo made to protect the moat in tho eho; s from dust, and n better stylo of delivery 5 ! oart was required. tions of the past conferences. Tho Minister said a Bill had been drafted and brought down last session, but presu-e cf work had prevented it passing A similar Bill was ready this session, and Cabinet would coosidar the proposals of the oor.„ foronoe, and if they met with approval the Bill would be amended on lines of ibe conference’s decisions, The session, how* uue, ana no might not be able to get tho Bill through. Still the munioipal bodies would have an opportunity of seeing in concrete form the attitude of the Government as disclosed in the Bill.
