A deputation consisting of Mr P, Ngata and other East Coast Maoris was introduced to tho Minister of Public Works today by Mr A, T. Ngata, M.H.U. The deputation, which represented Iho settl es, both European and Maoris, of Wuinpu County, asked that the sum of nGICOJ should bo placed on tho Estimates for tho construction of tho Waiapu-Te Araroa road Tbo Minister repliod that he gave preference to applications from people who had no roads ut all. Wtioro roads were formod, but were not fit for drays, that was a secondary consideration. Ho would get a report from his cilioers on the matter.
