FIRE COMMISSION.

PRESS ASSOCIATION Wellington, last night.

The Connniseion which is inveoiigating the cause of fires on woolsbip3 is, dutjng the inicrvals of the hearing of evidence, engaged in condnciing praelioal experiments with wool under varying conditions of temperature and moißture, in order to satisfy themselves on some points which: are at present obscure. The Commission has also obtained a repoit as to the fire on the Gothic, and a plan showing where the j various shipments of wool were stowed. It is understoed that the report makes it practicilly certain that the outbreak of I fire took place in tbo wool cargo. The Commission will leave for Christchurch on Friday evening, and hear evidence there on the following Tuesday.
