KILLED BY TRAIN.
PRESS ASSOCIATION Dunedin, last nighh Wm. Pollock, 51 years of age, a single man, was killed at the railway station this eveniDg by the wheels of a carriage passing over him. Just after the arrival of the express from Christchurch a carriage was being shunted, to be joined to the outgoing express for Xovercargill. D:csased, thinking the traiQ was leaving, tried to get on to the carriage. Ho gripped the railing with one hand, and then fell underneath the carriage. He was dead when picked up. Deceased had come to town to bear the decision in the Momona drainage oases, he being a resident in tho settle- ’ ment, '
