Maniapoto has been scratched for ths Epsom Handicap. Melbourne, August 13. For Saturday’s races Chivalry has been weighted at 9 0 for the Show Handicap, and Up-to-Date at 11.5 for the August Steeplechase.
PRESS ASSOCIATION Christchurch, last night. The tracks were heavy for the fioal ga'lops. Gold Crown and Maui finished together, doing seven furlongs in 144}, Ailsa defeated Black Raynard over five furloogs. Hydrant and Look Cam gave a good exhibition in a schooling task over five flights of hurdles. The Guesser and Narcissus finished stroDgly over the last half-mile in two medium circuits. The other candidates only did light to steady paeing.
