THE SIRIO WRECK.
CAUSE OF DISASTER,
PRES* ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT London, August 12. A number of additional survivors of the Sirio have landed. It is officially stated that six hundred and three were saved, and two hundred and nineteen are missing. The catastrophe was due to the vessel’s approach too near to the coast in order to embark a boatload of emigrants evading the authorities, many' of whom were escaping from military service.
