'Sir, —At a meeting of wbat Mrßirreli called " Cairoll’s Executive.."’ held in the Farmois’ Clpb room by 'Mr Birrelbs invitation, where Mr Birreli presided as chairman, although !• Mr Carroll’s Execu* tive ” did not cxiot, it having been disbanded after tbe late election, tbe Herald's reporter arrived and sat down, but Mr Birreli intimated to him that it was a private Rjeeting. which caused the reporter to retire.’ Mr'Joyci was there, and representpl to Mr Oarrcli what is stated in tpy last letter. Mr Birreli omitted to mention this meeting in his reply, but merely referred to another meeting which was not heard of till Mr Birrell’s reply appeared.—Yours, eto, ONE WHO WAS PRESENT.
