dropped dead in the Ohristohuroh Hospital
to-night. He had been sent up from Lyttelton under modioal orders, and died in the corridor on reaohing the institution, Henry L. Hamilton was committed for trial to-day on a charge of having at. Wellington forged cheques for £24 15s.
Alexander MoKenzie, billiard markor, was also committed for trial on a charge of having committed perjury in stating in evidence in a case heard on May 29th that ho had never made any bets since he beoarne a billiard marker. Two private deteotivos stated that on April 17thi they
