Napier, yesterday. George White, a well-known business maD, was given into custody this morning on a charge of misappropriating £439, the funds of the Starr-Bowketi Building —The arrest of George White, on a charge of misappropriation of the funds of the Starr-Bowkett Buildiog Society, came as a shock to the community. Rumor had been very busy with the Dame for somo days, but it was not anticipated matters would reach suoh aolimax._ Apart from business dealings, White is well likid, especially in cricket circles, and his unfortunate position is greatly regret ed.
