BOATING FATALITY
The N.Z. Herald’s Ringiriri correspondent gives the following further particulars of the Waikare boating fatality : Information was received on Monday morning that Thos. Foote, farmer, of Matahura, and Jas. Foote, fiaxmiller, of Matahura, were drowned on Lake Waikare on Sunday. They went duek-shoot-ing in a canoe on Sunday morning, the capsized oanoe beiDg found, with a number of ducks and one gun tied to it, in the evening.
In the afternoon the weather was very rough, aDd it is supposed that the accident occurred when they wero returning. A bat has been found, and search parlies are now dragging the lake for the bodies.
Thomas Foote was married, and was 41 years of age. He leaves a wd >w and seven children. J 33. Foote wa- 23 ye-» s old, and unmarried. The meu wtra cousins. Thomas Foote was koown to have boan a good swimmer, and it is presumed that a severe gust of wind overturned the canoe.
The acoident ooourred where the men Turley and Turbott were drowned a few woeks ago.
