JUMPED OVERBOARD.
Andrew Taft, aged 29, who jumped overboard from the Kahc. on Sitnrday when tbe steamer was on her way from Napier to Wellington, was a single man, and, so far as can be ascertained, he. bad no relatives in the colony. He had been depressed over a love affair. Alter he had finished his dinner with the other mem-
bers of the crew he jumped over tbe rail, and was drowned before a boat lowered from the vessel could reach him.
