FATALLY STABBED.
A COWARDLY ATTACK. I L‘l ■" '■! (P«E Prcs» Association.) Wellington, last night. The death of John Prestridgo, aged 63, wbo succumbed at the hospital to injuries received in a stabbing affray, on the night of April 5, was the subject of a Coroner’s inquiry. Thomas Henry Goodgor, who was present in custody, is charged with causing Prestridge’s death. The jury found that dea'h resuhod from septic poisoning of wounds caused by Goodger. It is alleged that duriDg an altercation in which deceased accused Gcolger of leading young Preetridge to drink, Goodgor struck the o’d man several limes, and stabbed him with a pocket knife. Prestridge was taken to the hospital, and attended to. He left the institution, but was Bent back in a few days in a bad state. He had received a wound two inches deep in the left armpit, and it was this which led to bis death.
