GREAT SLAUGHTER OF REBELS By telegraph* Press As*’ n* Copyright London, March 16, Daily Mail advices from Zunqeun, Northern Nigeria, dated Monday, state: Captain Goodwyn, of the Royal Artillery, attaoked the Bokoto rebels to day. The natives twioe charged the British square, aud were almost annihilated. Subsequently the British advanced to Sarirn, whioh, though strongly held, was bombarded and taken with the bayonet. There was great slaughter of the enemy, who fought desperately, standing up to our men’s charges. They were expelled and pursued by mounteds. Three hundred of the enemy were killed, inohidiog the leader, and the entire revolt was crushed. Loyal chiefs co-operatad iu the pursuit.
