ROWING ASSOCIATION.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, last night. A general meeting of the New Amateur Rowing Association was held to-» ■» night. Tbe matter of allowing Australian oarsmen and others from abroad competing at the New Zealand regattas had been mooted at the last annual meeting, when it was decided that no motion could be taken, aB an alteration in tbe rules waa involved. Notice of motion was, however, given, and to-night the meeting was called so that a decision might be arrived at before the coming championship at Ficton, Mr Neilson moved that nothing contained in any of the rules of this Association shall be held to prevent amatenv oarsmen from other countries competing in regattas held under the anspio6s of t-hie New Zealand Rowing Association, provided the approval of the Council has been first obtained. The motion was carried. The Association has received a letter from the Canterbury Association applying for the 1906-7 regatta to be held at Lake j Pursytb. This will be considered at tho annual, meeting. . .
