SCANDALOUS STATE OF AFFAIRS ' IN ENGLAND.

The House of Lords agreed to Lord Avebury’s resolution, affirming that, the question of Sunday shopping demands the seriouß attention of the Government. Lord Twecdmouth agreed to refer the subject to a joint committee of t!he legislature. The Arohbishop of Canterbury presides at a National Conference convened by religious bodies, dealing with the whole subjeot of Sunday observance.
