Tbo semi-finals in the Handicap Cup presented by Mr J. R. Murphy were played yesterday, both gatnoj being very closely contested. The first game was between Mangaheia I. ('-cra'cb) sill Waipico I. (10 goals), the formor wioDiog by i'2 to 11 aftor a good game. The Waipiro men did not play up to their usual form, or they would have been in the final. Me J. It. Murphy was umpire. The second match was between Povorty Bay I. (scratch) and Poverty Bay 11. (14 goals), and unothor very close game ensued, which must be very gratifying to the handicapper. Poverty Bay 11, added one to their handicap, making their score 15. and six spalls had to to played before tho game waa decided, Poverty Bay I. s curing tho 16 goala required to win, Mr S. Williamson umpired in this match, The two teams left in the final are the same that fought out the Senior Cup championship, a d at both are on scratch for this Cup another fine grme should result.
A scratch garno has been arranged for to-day between Mangaheia 11. and Wai» piro 11.
