Tho annual roport of tlio Christ* church Meat Company, Ltd., issued i'j to-day, and to bo presented at tho annual meeting of shareholders on the •23rd inst., says : Tho directors, h || submitting the balance-sheet and profit and loss account for the year ending 31st October, 1905, regret that tho year’s operations show a loss. Tho serious fall in values of both mutton and lamb towards tho ond of the season accounts for the heavy deficit shown as tiro result of the year’s working The quantity of stock put through the various works of the company for tho year amounts to 1,261,09,> head, Tho operations for the firat part of the year were satisfactory, and such as to . warrant the directors in paying tho customary interim dividend of 4 per cent for the half year ending the 30th April last. 'Tho various works have been kept in good order throughout tho vear, and the sum of £9BOO 11s 2d has been written oil against renewals and replacements. The actual balance at debit of profit and loss is | shown at £24,135 5s 93, but if the interim dividend apportioned on 30th April, 1905, (£5358 7a Id) is added to this it brings the total balance at debit of profit and loss to £29,493 12s oa.
