TECHNICAL CLASSES.

There was a large gathering of young men and women at the-meeting held in connection with * the tcohnioal classes. Amopgitthofe pr.-seut ware the chairman (Sir A. ; Graham), the secretary (Mr W. Margim).»aad the instructors, Miss fieore, an i Messrs Kinder, Warcnp, and Levy. The Chairman made a brief address in regard to the olasses, and' the secretary pointed out the advantages to be derived from attending the various ohioes. For book keeping, five pupils entered ; English, nine; shorthand, sis ; woodwork, three; relief-carving, two ; typewriting, oneplumbing, .two. It was decided that the book-keeping, English, shorthand, and woodwork olasses be gone on with, and that instruction in typewriting be given in conjunction with book-keeping, and relief carving in con« junction with the woodwork classes. The Eeoretary also announced that there would be.a class ia cookery. ehoulJ sufficient names be given in to justify the olass being started. In regard to plumbing, for which only two pup Is offered, it was explained that no ipoai instructor was available at present; but should there bo sufficient pupils offeriag to justify it, and no loo*) instructor being found available, the brioging of an iastrucior from outside would be considered.
