There was fine, cool weather for Anniversary Day, whioh was marked with the usual regatta. The orioket match, New South Wales v. Victoria, was commenced. Heavy rain yesterday made tho wicket do a bit for the bowlers in part of the day, but improved later. The local team in their first inDings made 263 ; Trumper 101 (a brilliant display) and Cotter 35, were the chief scorers. Violoria lost two wickets for 115 ; Ellis 40 and MnoAlister (not out) 51.
