Rio Janeiro, Jan. 23 At midnight on Bunday the powder magazine of tbo Brtzilian ironclad Aquidaband blew up at Jacaicpagca, whilo the vessel was escorting a Ministerial party abca-.d the oruiser Barroso on a tour of inspection of tbo Bites for a naval yard. The Aquiduband sank in three minutes. It is reported that three hundred people perished. One officer was eaved. Tbo drowned included four rearadmirals, a number of naval officers, and Government offioials who were guests of tbo Aquidaband.
